“To all members of LCO”

“I wish to express to you all my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for contributing to what was indeed a MAGNIFICENT “departure”. How could yesterday’s programme have possibly been bettered- exquisite Schubert and “Haffner”?!. I have felt much humbled by the great kindness and generous spirit shown to me yesterday. It has always been a privilege -and a hugely enjoyable one over a VERY long time- to have been part of this super “group of friends who play together”-making music to a very high standard and in the most congenial company and atmosphere. For  Joyce and I it will not however of course be “Adieu LCO”  but a brief temporary “Farewell” for we intend to be at the Play Day and will continue to support the orchestra in whatever way we can in the future. May large oaks grow from those tiny acorns long ago planted!”. My best wishes to everyone-and many thanks again”
